Looking at the Chanel website she starts to read about their new fragrance 'Chance Eau Fraiche'. "A reincarnation of the unexpected Chance". Without ever trying the first Chance she wonders if there is any difference other than the packaging.
She opens the product and firstly inhales - a long deep breath. On first sniff the fragrence stings the nostrils and catches in her throat, tasting it in her mouth. She senses a mixture of floral mixed with a muskiness. A hint of masculinity lingers. She waves it under her boyfriends nose and asks if he likes it. " Is that for men or women? he asks. Not a good sign....
She sprays it on her neck, dabs it around her wrists and behind her ears and sprays it in the air and runs through it. All being "tricks" she had read that makes the fragrance smell its best, but she is unsure if it makes a difference. Because it is a new fragrance she is aware of it all day. Wearing it, the scent is more subtle that she expected it to be. With the smell wafting around her all day it reminded her of someone with a......she thinks of the appropriate word......more mature age. She feels like she smells as though her mother or grandmother should smell - not necessarily a bad thing. She believes every age has an appropriate scent and this one doesn't suit her.
She wonders though, what it would smell like on somebody else, it is after all a very pleasant fragrance. Perfume is a uniquely personal thing, with it smelling completely different on every single person.
